3  Night time onset of migraines Night sweats, crave carbs and sweets, weight gain, hair loss, VERY deep sleep, difficult to wake in the morning, foggy until about noon. ( I take 25 mgs after dinner to try to have it worn off by morning.) My "official" diagnosis is: Intractable Chronic Daily Migraine and Moderate Myofacial Pain. I have been taking this for 1 year. I am happy to say that I rarely wake with disabling head pain in the night-comes on during the day instead! Am taking lots of meds. so it's hard to know what side effect is directly linked to Pamelor. F 39 1 days

4  Atypical facial pain Tiredness - mostly overcome with time. Now trying to withdraw from several years of taking 25 mg/day and the withdrawal symptoms are hard to live with. GI disturbances, gas, chronic gut noises, headache, restlessness. You are supposed to slowly decrease the dosage, but when you are taking the minimum and the drug is in capsule form there is no way to go but cold turkey. M 73 2 days

3  Migraine Prevention Hypomania, Gas I have been waking up with horrible migraines for a year and a half and I have tried beta blockers and topamax which didn't help at all and these are the first days I have woken up without horrible migraines. I just started it so the migraine was still present but I was able to function so much better for the first time. The only problem is it triggered hypomania but I have suspected for sometime that I might have bipolar disorder F 19 2 days

2  Failed back surgery/insomnia Fatigue/Sleepiness! (not at night) Slight weight gain-5 lbs. in 2 weeks. Huge cravings for carbs/sweets. Did I say overwhelming sleepiness? Started on 25 mg at bedtime 2 weeks ago. Told my doctor today that the daytime drowsiness was too much to tolerate. Ambien-10mg still not enough, but will seek other answers. Have tried lunesta before. M 38 2 days

1  Migrane/Depression/Sleep Aid Fatigue, fast heart rate, nausea, dizziness, chestpain, and difficulty concentrating. For about half a year now I've been getting steadily more frequent and more intense migranes. I've tried almost every kind of medication for it. While most of the others simply didn't work this one actually made me feel worse. Not only did I get all the side effects, but my migranes have persisted as well. And I take it at bedtime to try to make me sleep, but it only makes me tired the following day it seems. It's been difficult to move around much for the last day; I have almost zero energy.  1  nervousness/colitis caused severe chest pain - crushing pain, then severe joint pain in hips, shoulders which lasted 2 days. worst 2 days of my life. I had just had my annual exam and EKG, how could I be having a heart attack 2 days after my check up. Unlikely!!! but it was brought on by the drug Dr prescribed Pamelor, it was filled by a generic made by Teva. I submitted a report to the FDA. F 50 2 days

1  Migraine I was very drowsy but as that wore off I was very agitated and I was hearing voices in my head. My ears won't stop ringing now. I don't know if I will ever be back to normal. This is a scary drug. Here are some of its side effects. Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); blurred vision or other vision changes; changes in sex drive; chest pain; confusion; constipation; fainting; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; fever; frequent or difficult urination; hallucinations; impulsive behavior or other unusual changes in behavior; jaw, neck, or muscle spasms; mental or mood changes (eg, increased anxiety, mood swings, agitation, irritability, nervousness, restlessness); panic attacks; ringing in the ears; seizures; severe dizziness or drowsiness; sore throat; stomach pain; suicidal thinking or behavior; swelling of the testicles; tremor; trouble sleeping; trouble walking or keeping your balance; twitching of the face or tongue; uncontrolled movements of arms and legs or stiffness; unusual bleeding or bruising; worsening of depression; yellowing of the skin or eyes. How could the FDA allow this poison on the market? M 57 3 days

1  Chronic migraine Confusion, unreal-feeling - like my body wasn't mine. Though I took a small dose it was still too strong for me. Felt completely unreal. All symptoms were still there but I just didn't feel them, I hardly felt anything which was frightening. Heavily sedated feeling. Back to Amitriptylin. F 45 4 days
