| 5 | Cervical muscle spasms | I had a dry mouth....somewhat drowsy when I first wake up. It works really well for muscle spasms & neck pain considering I cant take pain medicine without nausea & vomiting. I only take flexeril at night tho. 10mg. When the effects where off you may start to experience a headache and feel groggy. This in turn may be responsible for irritability. | I don’t take this as prescribed. I’m supposed to take 10mg each night but I only take it once and a while. It works great for muscle spasms and helps well with pain. Also great for helping you sleep. I’ve taken this medicine more than a hundred times and been fine. Out of all the times I’ve taken it I have the same results sweating, tiredness and great muscle relaxation. Just don’t go to bed with a full bladder or you may wake up wet. But that only happened once. Also figure out your own dosage. I’d recommend taking like 2.5 mg once a day and if it works good. May need more. It helps me sleep and it works better than other muscle relaxers I have been prescribed. I try not to take it every night because it is a stronger medication and will lose it’s effectiveness if used too often. I also know that it’s good to be careful with these kind of meds even if you are in a lot of pain- it’s important to take the least amount possible. I have gotten great relief with this and have been able to sleep without being woken up by muscle cramps and pain. I have also been able to take care less of my other medication for nerve pain at night. | Flexeril makes me very sleepy. Very few medications actually make me sleep, so I’d be careful taking this during the day. I am having a difficult time w/ my nerve pain. I recently stopped using Fentanyl after 10 years because it wasn’t working very well anymore. I use Gabapentin and have steroid injections. I have tried Lyrica,Topamax, CBD oil...you name it...does anyone have a recommendation for something that has given them relief from nerve pain? I would so appreciate any ideas- 20+ years now - from 2 bad accidents. Back then, I could only take it at bedtime, as it turned me into a zombie. But it allowed me to get a good nights sleep, and I woke up fine in the morning. After years of taking it PRN, it no longer knocks me out, which I actually miss, because I'm having trouble finding something that does that a dr will continually prescribe me. But now that I can take it whenever... I have a reverse curve in my neck from multiple whiplash injuries, and flexeril is the ONLY thing that will take away my neck pain once it starts (driving long distances really aggravates it). It works absolute wonders for that. But Flexeril doesn't mix with Valium -- apparently it raises serum levels of Valium substantially, making it feel like you took 2x Valium.
