5  Insomnia possible memory loss but I am not sure, given I'm getting older and short term memory loss is natural to lose and also they tell me I will get short term memory loss, so maybe it's subliminal, as most are rather hysterical regarding this class of drug. But I don't really remember ;-) I'm fairly certain this drug is like others, in that, it may not be good for those with addictive tendencies but fine for those who do not. 61 6 years

5  Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) NONE I have suffered from lifelong overwhelming, irrational anxiety (even as a child). Over the years I had tried everything; exercise, breathing, supplements, counseling. Then was cycled on and off multiple anti-depressants (SSRI) over the course of 8 years. The anti-depressants actually caused more anxiety and insomnia and have terrible side effects. I was finally given Klonopin and it has been a miracle. It has completely transformed my life for the better. Since being on Klonopin I can function normally. I now can socialize, focus my mind, work, be productive...handle every day situations. I would never choose to go back to how I lived all those years. Before Klonopin I had contemplated suicide many times because I lived in constant anxiety and was miserable. Now I am normal and content. F 57 5 years

5  Anxiety and panic attacks None! This has been a lifesaver. My anxiety and panic attacks were completely debilitating. And I've tried everything. Every anti-depressant, excessive exercise, chamomile diffusion, Kava extract, meditation, Pranayama breathing, walking with weights, alcohol, CBD oil, you name it. And with just one dose of Klonopin it reversed this nightmare going on 3 years in just one day. My doc initially prescribed 1 mg twice a day, total 2 mg per day. I started out with .25 mg a day and have upped it to .75 mg and doing great. I am so sorry to read these other stories of how awful it has been for others. But I am taking heed of your warnings of going off and how horrible the withdrawal can be. I don't know what else to do except what I am doing because I finally have my life back. F 68 7 days

5  attain deep sleep/ Fibromyalgia pa None ! Just a good nights sleep that relieves pain of Fibromyalgia. I wake up alert & not tired or in pain! You can get off it gradually & be okay. I have tried it but without acquiring a deep sleep the unbearable Fibromyalgia pain quickly returns! At almost 78 living alone I can't function with the pain, so what to I have to loose. I do get a good night's sleep & free of pain. All these others with problems taking it, probably didn't need it in the first place. They are usually having problems with taking any kind of Medication! F 77 24 years

I suffer from GAD, generalized Anxiety Disorder and feel blessed that this was the 1st medication that my doctor tried and works great. It does not make me feel tired, it just calms my nerves. People ask me all the time how it makes me feel but it's hard to explain because the stress is just gone and I feel normal. F 47 6 years

5  to fall asleep and stay asleep Absolutely none other than getting drowsy and needing to go to sleep. In my case, it only works if I take an OTC med with it, which, in my case is Tylenol PM The key is to keep the dosage to 0.25 - .05 nightly if you need help sleeping. I have never had an issue with it but must take it because I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which I've had since age 39. I would never take it during the day because I am drug sensitive and would not be able to function, drive, etc. It's a godsend in my case, and I've tried many other medications. Please understand the downside to taking this type of med is that it has cognitive effects. I deal with fatigue and brain fog in the morning; most of it passes. 73 10 years

5  Panic and anxiety A little tired sometimes but not to bad. Here's the deal. These drugs can be a lifeline if you need them. If you can try and just use them as needed when the panic attacks are just to much. I've been doing this for 10 years and maybe take the drug 3 days a week if that. I take it alongside paxil and although my anxiety isnt perfectly gone it helps knowing if things get un bearable I have these at my disposal. I dont think they were meant for long term usage so be weary and smart about it. Sometimes just knowing I have them in my pocket can calm me down. 38 10 years

5  Chronic lifelong severe anxiety eit Not any. Did not sedate me. I became productive. I did not crave extra and never abused the drug I was horrified that my new doctor after seeing five Doctors at same site, was the first one to wean me of because of DEA regulations, even though this was truely the drug that has worked for me. Even more horrified when she would not stop weaning me off even though I asked her to please consider trying later because of a global pandemic and the main caretaker for myself and my daughter still completely symptomatic. I am so scared. I’m the only one that can drive and handle money to care for the two of us both becoming crippled with anxiety and my fear of ritualistic touching in a panicked world F 57 7 days

5  seizure disorder and ptsd nothing to speak of This medication has been the best medication that I have taken. Lamictal was also good, but I had some allergies to it. This med handles many different problems for me' anxiety, seizures, insomnia, and ptsd flashbacks are kept at a minimal. Of course this med, like all meds can have different effects on each individual. The people that I know who have had a problem with this med have had other addictions. I´m in my fifties and my memory is excellent. I walked 1000 miles during the Fall-Winter of 2019. My physical health is the best it has ever been and I was an athlete in college. I find this medication to be much ¨cleaner¨and easier on the system than other psychoactive meds.In my case, I have not built up tolerance over the decades. I use the medication carefully.  5  Panic Disorder, Sleeping Problems Great when you need it, but don't exceed it. I kept my use responsible for years (twice a week) and there was a crisis last year. As a result, I was taking it daily and eventually developed a dependence. Had to taper using the Ashton Manual, it took six months to get off of 1.5mg. I still plan to use it (or lorazepam) as-needed but will use discretion because these drugs are very, very useful. Use the Ashton Manual if you are dependent! All you need is a scale, a razor blade for measuring, and a whole lot of patience. The good news is you won't have scary withdrawals, it should not interfere with your daily life. The bad news is it takes forever. If you need help, my inbox is open. I can help you develop a tapering schedule. I only have experience with klonopin, that's the best one to taper with because of its long halflife. M 38 5 years

I also take it in emergencies (when my catatonia starts again), it brings me completely out of my catatonia within 2 hours.  5  Anxiety No side effects at all Very good at stopping the anxiety. Not for everyone though. If you have an addictive personality stay away. If you can be adult about taking it and not abuse it, it could really help. If your a knucklehead and abuse it well you will pay for it later. Almost any drug can be abused it’s all about taking personal responsibility about what your putting into your body. One mans so call rat poison might be another’s salvation. M 51 5 years
