| 1 | UTI | I have chronic eosinophilic pneumonia as a result of Macrodantin I took 20 years ago. It causes recurrent episodes of shortness of breath, chest pain, productive cough, low-grade fever. I have to take corticosteroids with every exacerbation and am now being placed on them as a maintenance dose. My lungs are damaged and irreparable. It is incapacitating when I have symptoms. Antihistamine was administered via IV - took 2,5 hours to stabilise. Doctor also thought I had bronchitis or early pneumonia - but this is not possible as it came on extremely suddenly. Later confirmed it was caused by the drug!! | My doctor was shocked at my reaction to the drug.
