I emailed provider again and was told the side effects were mild and the things I was experiencing was not sure to injection. That I need to make an appointment with a pcp and could go to a dermatologist for fillers. Another injection of anything is the last thing I want and an ugly sunken pit is the least of my worries. | I was never told beforehand what the injection was or warned of any side effects so that I could make an informed decision to have this shot. I had some aching in the right deltoid muscle, as I have for the last ten years. I was injected and within 12 hours, both hands went numb. Within 36 hours,I felt a tremendous pop, followed by excruciating pain and weakness! The MRI, 3 days later, showed a full thickness tear. I endured multiple tears the following weeks. The surgeon wanted to give me, yet, another injection!! I profusely declined much to his ignorant dismay. I've been in so much pain. I insisted on a second MRI...I am no stranger to pain. I've had 30 surgeries, all athletic, since I was 13 years old. My second MRI showed massive tears! Two surgeons have recommended a shoulder replacement. I went from an aching deltoid to a shoulder replacement within a few months! I'm sorry, this doesn't happen. No doctor on earth can make me believe that this medication did not somehow cause this unbelievable progression of damage. I simply raised my arm to brush my hair!! A lifetime of tennis balls, weights, basketball, etc... and these tears occur within 36 hours after a kenalog injection... brushing my hair??.. really? NOW, the hardware in my cervical spine is burning and apparently pinching on nerves running down into my shoulder and arm. The medical field does NOT care! You have to have cancer, no disrespect to those who do, to get any pain relief. DO NOT accept this medication. I am counting down the days that this drug is “suppose” to be out of my system.
