I stop taking them for periods of time, I've never been addicted to them. I can go months without taking them, then take them daily for a few weeks, then off them cold turkey for a year! It's just as needed really....... I have just been switched to Ativan (Lorazepam) 1mg twice a day as I'm relocating interstate and my panic is back badly.
