Obsessive thinking. | Been on Hunira, Enbrel & Remicade depending on best deal providers could offer and the emotional side effects are very bad. I have alienated many people since being on it and i am fearful i will be alone the rest of my life due to how it makes me so messed up. I never stacked ot with SSRI's as i know what those do. All biologics helped with the physical conditions though and having the psoriasis go away and the arthritis clear up made me stay on it, as th3 methotrexate i took prior, felt unbearable. I am seeking medical and psychological help to determine the next move. As i am so old now, i almost don't mind the thought of letting my bones deteriorate if i stop and the psoriasis being all ove my body again. The remicade made me have suicidal ideation and enbrel and humira may as well. I surround myself with a spiritual practice and a few people understand. Olease alter the rating system? It is not relevant to the side effects which are atrocious, despite the medicine being effective. If it makes ya want to die, is that "effective"? | M | 56 | 17 years 40mg? The only med that would ever help was prednisone and we all know that can only be taken short term. After taking every nsaid, muscle relaxer, and opiod in the book, after painful and hopeless months of physical therapy and a tens unit, after pain management treated me like a drug seeking teenager and told me "pain was subjective" I had given up hope and contemplated suicide to escape the pain (3 years untreated)( I love my life but the pain was unbearable)My sister recommended her rheumatologist so in my last ditch effort I went to see him. I poured my heart out, I cried, I told him my story. That rheumarheumatologist diagnosed me with Ankylosing Spondylitis after my testimonial. He didn't rely on bloodwork for his diagnosis. His decision saved my life. I was also taking 5mg. prednisone OD....BEWARE of lowering you immune system...I now have Merkel Cell Carcinoma..very rare but most likely from my impaired immune system. Have any blemish checked immediately and tell dermatologist you take Humira! Do not ignore them...this could save your life. | Humira gave me back my life...I could finally move again. Plus I could dust, vacuum, clean my house, wash and iron, take care of my dogs and cats and mow the entire lawn! (Yes, I have a riding mower!) I can no longer jog 6 miles each day, dance, fell trees for firewood, cut and split firewood, nor can I garden as I used to do. I need someone to help my hubby build the garage addition to our house as I can no longer hammer as I once did and do the heavy lifting. I MISS being able to do heavy construction work, but the Humira GAVE me back the use of my hands, took away the horrible pain and allowed me to sleep, and allowed me to walk again. Without it, I can honestly say I would rather be dead. It does not work as well if taken in the morning and more side effects are noticed during that day. They should make 2 20 mg pens as one dose so the pressure would be lessened and patientd could take one in each leg or multiple injection sites. 40mg is too much and is usually painful from the amount of pressure under the skin. The injection pain causes short term delays in medication, such as "one more day" and likely millions of sicker patients, not to mention patients taking less medication which stockholder and politicians dont like. They should also make 10 mg pens so people can take different dose amounts other than 40mg. I would prefer attempting 20 or 30mg per week when my health is good and maybe taking an extra 10 mg when i have flare ups. The cost for this medication is absolutely outrageous and for such a price, there should be these improvements being made. Many insurance companies make it very difficult to get, especially the third party "specialty" companies. They often tell you it is in the mail and you are waiting by the door only to discover that they lost your prescription and now you need another one and a prior authorization which will take another week to process. I believe the horrendous service by these companies is an effort to save money at the expense of patients. humiria assistance is a blessing. HUMIRA (ADALIMUMAB): Adalimumab is used to reduce pain and swelling due to certain types of arthritis (such as rheumatoid, psoriatic, juvenile idiopathic, ankylosing spondylitis). This medication is also used to treat certain skin disorders (such as plaque-type psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa). It works by blocking a protein (tumor necrosis factor or TNF) found in the body's immune system that causes joint swelling and damage in arthritis as well as red scaly patches in psoriasis. Adalimumab belongs to a class of drugs known as TNF blockers. By reducing joint swelling, this medication helps to reduce further joint damage and preserve joint function.
