| 4 | Severe Psoriatic & Rhuem Arthritis | Due to insurance issues (lack of) this is my second round of Humira. I am on it and Methotrexate after being on MTX alone. Side effects seem to be brain fog like that from Fibromyalgia. I have also had severe gasto issues from time to time even when taking Humira alone. When taking Humira it seems to make Psoriatic Blistering much worse for a few days after the injection. In time it will clear the blistering. I do not have issues with psoriatic plaques but assume it would benifit there as well. | I take it weekly and this round I am at about week #5. I have found that the pre loaded dose pack burns very bad. When I change it to a 1cc sub q needle it is easier to inject but still burns as it is just part of the medication. When on it before it helped with mobility after 8 - 12 weeks. I believe it would have helped with pain beyond that had I not lost insurance. Feel free to email. I am 33 and retired because of this disease with nothing much to do anyway. | M | 6 weeks | 3/19/2007 | 4 | ra | my right side aches constantly | M | 6 weeks | 6/28/2009 | 4 | Ulcerative colitis | Brain fog and lack of energy | Although I have increased the med to 1 dose per week, it still has not put me into complete remission. As a result, I am taking 15mg of prednisone..... perhaps this drug is adding to my feeling of low energy. | M | 13 months | 6/29/2009 | 3 | Crohn's | NONE | M | 4 years 40 MG 1X W | 1/8/2013 | 2 | Ankylosing Spondylitis | 1 days | 5/29/2013 | 2 | Rhum. Arth | None | Does not work for me. | M | 1 years | 5/17/2006 | 2 | psoriatic arthritis | new positive ANA, new lupus, new vasculitis | I took Humira for 3 years. While sometimes difficult to inject, it was great for the arthritis sympotoms. I felt very well, strong, had reduced joint pain, and little psoriasis. I did have a bad infection that required hospitalization for nearly a week, but otherwise did very well. Then my ANA turned positive, I developed an itchy rash, then developed vasculitis, and finally the malar rash of SLE. I went off Humira. | F | 3 years | 8/2/2009 | 2 | crohns | muscle weakness, hard to walk | 12 weeks | 2/25/2009 | 1 | Dr. said | Well said reviewer on 12/3/2008. | | 5/2/2009 | 2 | Severe Psoriasis | Severe injection pain and soreness after, memory loss. After 6 weeks a rash over entire torso and increase in plaque psoriasis everywhere. | After the first and second injections there was a major improvement in her psoriasis. She then got strep and had to miss two shots, after two more shots she got a virus and had to miss another shot. She has now had 4 more weekly shots and after the first shot in this set, she started a chickenpox like rash that developed into a psoriasis looking rash over her entire torso from chest to upper thigh. She never had psoriasis lesions in those areas before. Her psoriasis has also worsened everywhere else now. It was looking like the miracle cure for her at first, but it is not looking so great now, not sure we are going to be able to continue it. Anyone had similar symptoms? I'd love to know the outcome...please e-mail me! | F | 7 | 11 weeks | 1/10/2010 | 3 | plaque psoriasis | Stop of menstrual cycle, facial hair growth, change in voice | Worked really wonderful for about the first year. Now noticing excessive facial hair growth. Bruises easy. Now plague psoriasis is back on knees and elbows. Scalp is worse now than before. First real side affect we noticed was the stopping of menstrual cycle, stopped after second injection never has started back. Just wondering if anyone else has had these same problems. My daughter is starting high school this year and we have stopped the Humira this summer to see if it helps. | F | 13 | 3 years 2X M | 7/4/2011 | 2 | Crohns | no appetite, dizziness, tired can always sleep for 12+ hours, sinus infection (may or may not be related) diarrea, mental fogginess, forgetful, easily makes bad decisions | F | 13 | 4 months | 1/12/2009 | 3 | Crohn's | Had headache, nausea, stomach pain & diarrhea with crohn's but sice loading Humira dose headache & nausea much worse. Even rx anti-nausea med doesn't help | Too soon to tell about how Humira will effect crohn's but so far the headache & nausea are awful. Will they go away with time? Is it because the loading dose is high? Any feedback would be great. | M | 14 | 6 days Loading 1X O | 5/12/2010 | 2 | crohn's disease | sleeping 12-14 hours a day, muscle pain, night sweats, head aches, face rash, flu like symtoms (tempurature, sickness, no appetite), various infections. | mildly relieved my symptoms at first, but started again recently. | M | 15 | 5 months | 3/4/2009 | 2 | JIA | Horrible Headaches, frequent sinus infections, strep throat, had mono twice, swollen lymphnodes that won't go away, exhausted, my period stopped, severe stomach pain | My mom decided to take me off of the Humira because of all the side effects. It worked ok but not worth risking your life for. | F | 15 | 1 years | 7/26/2009 | 5 | ra | none so far | works great for me | M | 17 | 2 years | 9/17/2008 | 4 | Ulcerrative Colitis | I am very tired after I get the shot. Major headache for a few days. Also, my face is breaking out. Always makes my face break out. | I reccomend it. It has helped me a lot and I am not allergic to it, which is a plus! | F | 17 | 2 months 40 MG 2X M | 9/18/2011 | 2 | RA | None | Dont work for me no response | M | 17 | 5 months | 12/30/2008 | 5 | Psoriasis | no side effects! After maybe 2 shots in the past 7 months of taking them i got a hot rashno bigger that the size of a quarter around the injection site that clearned up after a few days. but NO PSORIASIS! | 18 year old, female. started 7 months ago because i suffered from severe psoriasis in my scalp for two years that started to take a large emotional toll on my life. I was very self conscious and used every topical cream out there. Also used a variety of oral pills that had not done the job or did not take well with my body and i had very bad side effects. Humira was my last option and after weighing its possible side effects i chose to take it. Best thing i had ever done. i was entering college, started two weeks before and i'd say about 4 weeks into college i literally completely forgot i had even had psoriasis. I have no scaling, or peeling, or itchy. I wear black again. All i have to do it take one shot every two weeks. It worked for me when i thought there was no hope, please dont give up! | F | 18 | 7 months 2X M | 3/16/2011 | 4 | Psoriasis | I have experienced frequent headaches, fatigue, and bruising around the injection site. At least twice when I have taken the medicine, I have experienced sudden nausea, faintness, sweating, and dizziness. | Although some of the side effects really bother me, the results that I have already seen make it worth it. | F | 18 | 1 months 40mg 1X W | 2/20/2010 | 1 | Crohn's Disease and AML | Extreme Fatigue, Sore Eyes, Blood in Stool, Severe Bloating, Knee Pain and Shortness of Breath. | Leukemia and Crohn's makes it 100 times harder to manage and treat using the medications as they both have adverse effects against each other. | M | 18 | 6 weeks | 8/3/2009 | 4 | crohns | Thank God, i've had almost no side effects. Except since starting Humira, I get sick more often. | F | 19 | 4 months 40 mg 2X M | 2/23/2012 | 5 | psoriasis | Small cuts (hang nails, nicks) don't heal - I have had some for months now. No other notable side effects. I also have IBS and have not noticed any changes (worsening or otherwise) in my symptoms. No side effects after injections, not even site reaction. | I am 100% CLEAR from psoriasis and have been after about a month and a half of taking Humira. This has changed my life and improved my quality of life ten fold. I have has psoriasis since I was about 9 - over 10 years now. For the first time since I was a child I can wear tshirts, bathing suits, dresses, and not think about my P every hour of everyday. I had P on arms, legs, torso, and scalp. The injections suck and they do hurt more than the average needle. But the pain is nothing compared to what pain from P was. I prefer the prefilled syringe as I had problems with the autoinjector pen injecting prematurely (user error - I couldn't hold it into my skin firmly enough due to nerves and it injected twice into the air - 2 wasted needles!). I inject in upper legs. | F | 20 | 4 months 2X M | 5/3/2010 | 4 | Crohn's | _Extreme_ pain at injection site which gradually fades over 4-6 hours. persistent headache for 24 hours after injection. increased rate of infection (I've had mononucleosis twice, second time was severe - went on steroids for swelling and percocet for pain; couldn't swallow at all). | along with medicinal marijuana has kept my Crohn's in almost complete remission since January 2007. prior to going on humira i was on remicade until I developed antibodies against it. From the age of 12 (when I was diagnosed) until age 18 I was hospitalised at least once per year because of my Crohn's. Since going on humira i have not been hospitalised. | M | 20 | 2.5 years | 6/15/2009 | 3 | Ulcerative Colitis | I become extremely tired after each injection. One time I developed a high fever with flu-like symptoms—but only once, and my doctor said it was probably because I had a head cold at the time. Other than that, I haven't experienced any other adverse reactions. I haven't been taking Humira long enough to know if it's helping with my symptoms. | Try injecting it in your stomach—it is much less painful than in the thighs! Visit my blog on ulcerative colitis: www.UCgirl.blogspot.com | F | 20 | 1 months | 2/19/2008 | 1 | Chrons disease | EXTREMELY TIRED all the time, fungal infections, psorisis in random patches, depression, memory fog, various infections. | M | 20 | 10 months 2X M | 8/28/2012 | 5 | Psoriatic Arthritis | Injection itself extremely painful, and causes worse than usual sickness when alcohol is drunk. Lately experiencing mood swings although not 100% whether this is the humira or not. Otherwise the benefit greatly outweighs any side effects, I would definitely recommend it to those suffering from extremely bad arthritis. | F | 21 | 3 years 40mg 2X M | 9/30/2010 | 5 | Psoriasis | Increased infections (during first few months of taking drug). No other adverse side effects since then. Mild acne developed (but nothing compared to psoriasis!) | I was 80% covered in P and I am now totally clear and living a radically different and better life. I haven't had any side effects in nearly 8 months. Don't let the bad reviews freak you out. | F | 21 | 1 years 2X M | 11/29/2010 | 5 | Psoriatic Arthritis and Psoriasis | Other than pain at time of injection and itchiness for the next few days this drug has helped me live a painfree life | Has helped immensley and almost immediately. felt results 1 week after initial injection. My skin has cleared up 98% and my joints are pain free. It was my last hope of leading a plaque free and joint pain free life and has worked | F | 21 | 3 months | 8/12/2008 | 4 | Rheumatoid Arthritis | F | 21 | 1X W | 11/9/2011 History | 4 | RA and Psoriasis | few patches of psoriasis, arthritis flares once in a while, fatigue, cyst | I have had psoriatic arthritis since the age of 10 and I have undergone multiple medications. Methotrexate made me mentally insane for a portion of my life, enbrel worked for a good two years, but humira has made me feel close to normal. Although I may suffer from a few side effects, they seem quite minor from the pain I have suffered in the past. I've hated taking all these medications and humira has been the medication that has worked for me resently. I am currently experiencing a few side effects worth questioning, but honestly what medication would I take if not humira? hmm | F | 21 | 3 years 40 2X M | 2/16/2010 | 4 | phsorises | Little harder to breath during workouts. | M | 21 | 1 months 40 | 11/29/2011 | 4 | Crohn's | really bad dry skin on face and ears and itchy/scabby rashes on arms, shoulders, back, and legs | the drug has helped my crohn's amazingly. not even a twinge of pain since using it. but this skin problem is starting to get out of control, meeting with my doctor next week so hopefully they can prescribe something that wont mean I have to stop humira | F | 22 | 4 months 2X M | 3/15/2011 | 4 | Crohn's Disease | Itching and dry skin, hair loss, as well as swelling, pain and redness at injection site. | The Humira started working within a few weeks of my first injections and has kept my symptoms from Crohn's away. Although I eventually developed extremely itchy and dry skin, and in the past two months I have developed hair loss on my scalp. More recently I have experienced large swelling (15cm diametre) on and around my injection sites, with pain, redness and itching, which starts developing within 10 minutes of injection. | F | 22 | 6 months 40mg 2X M | 3/15/2011 | 3 | Ankylosing Spondylitis | Fatigue and occasionally headaches in the first 3 days after injecting. Short term memory loss/brain fog. I have developed dermagraphism. (full body itching) I also had an anaphylaxis episode. Throat seizing and all. (I have zero allergies) A baby tooth I still had (genetically no adult) went from being just fine to needing to be pulled in 3 months. Most frustrating, I now become exponentially hungover with any alcohol consumption. | Recently I had one and a half glasses of wine and woke up with a pounding headache and an allover "off" feeling. Headache got worse throughout the day and I became worse feeling and nauseous. I then threw up and continued to until 11pm at night. HUNGOVER TILL 11pm IS CRAZY! Another time I had 2 bud lights and woke up with a headache and vomiting till I started dry heaving. This happened other times as well. Due to a tooth implant (I now need) I have been going on and off Humira near procedures and when I'm off it I can drink like my old self. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS??? I would love to know. I inject every 10 days. Overall the Humira has helped with my AS and the symptoms on it are better than the pain off it. | F | 22 | 1.5 years 40mg 3X M | 2/4/2012 | 3 | Crohn's Disease | Humira has worked wonders for my Crohn's sypmptoms after trying nearly every Crohn's drug on the market. Side effects include: severe joint pain, tingling in fingers and toes, severe weight gain without a change in eating habits, headaches, swelling in injection site, night sweats, rashs, hair loss, ezcema, nausea, severe shortness of breath and swelling in legs, feet, face and stomach have occurred recently | This medicine has worked great for the Crohn's but I just keep getting more and more side effects. Mine are getting so bad and severe it is dangerous, looking to find a new drug and see my GI doc asap. | F | 22 | 3 years 40 MG 2X M | 6/12/2012 | 3 | crohns | headaches, depression, weightgain, shortness of breath, infections such as cellulitous, severe fatigue, spots on skin, severe joint pains finding it difficult to walk, tight chest, also had flu several times and mumps, shooting pains in eyes and head, bleeding gums, very emotional, mood swings, loss of motivation | humira really helped with symptoms for first 3months then symptoms started to creep back in. have recently uped my dose from one injection every 2weeks to one every week. but think this may increase my symptoms, cant decide whats worse crohns or symptoms. im 22 and never go out as joint pains that bad and want to sleep all the time. | F | 22 | 1 years | 11/18/2009 | 1 | Spondyloarthropathy | Burning upon injection | While on Humira I developed a severe gastrointestinal infection that landed me in the hospital for two weeks. I have never been so sick in my life. My doctor had me stop the Humira immediately after that. | F | 22 | 1 months | 4/6/2008 | 4 | Crohn's Disease | Fatigue, Elevated HR, dizziness, edema, flu-like symptoms, Pain at injection site if I inject the meds too quickly (does not hurt when you push it in slowly)... But my Crohn's symptoms are almost non-existent... could be other meds causing some symptoms (still under investigation) | Humira has "cured" me of my Crohn's symptoms however I am unsure if it may be causing all of these side effects, will update when I find out. Overall I would recommend trying it if nothing else seems to be working... I've tried Entocort, Imuran, Pentasa, etc all before Humira and was on Prednisone for almost a year before being able to come off it (started Humira after 6 months of Prednisone without being able to completely come off them). | F | 23 | 6 months | 12/14/2008 | 4 | Rheumatoid Arthritis | Slight Fatigue the next day. Minor rash / itching in injection area | This drug has been extremely effective. The minimal side effects are definitely worth the non-existing swelling of my joints. | F | 23 | 3 years 40mg 2X M | 5/22/2012 | 5 | Psoriatic Arthritis | Sometimes it takes me longer to bounce back from being sick. That's about it. I've seen so many discouraging postings about humira and it makes me sad for those people and those reading it because humira has changed my life! I live a completely normal and 99% pain free life now because of it. I definitely think it is worth trying and being open minded about. | F | 24 | 6 years 40 mg | 12/7/2011 | 5 | psoriatic arthritis | Pain and swelling after injection. I have bruised badly in injection site. Painful to inject. Lower back tingles sometimes, not sure if it is related. No other issues. | Before using Humira I could barely walk. I had poor quality of life for about four months due to the pain from arthritis in my left foot and neck. I developed psoriasis when I was nine on my scalp. When I was 22 I noticed my psoriasis was worsening, spreading to other areas, and I had foot and neck pain. The pain from the arthritis became so severe I don't know how I got out of bed everyday. I thought I was going to become disabled. It took 11 months to get diagnosed with PA. Since taking this medicine I do not have any symptoms of psoriasis or arthritis!!! No pain, no itchy scalp! The injections are difficult for me. I can not do it myself, I tried once and injected the air. It is painful for me as well. It is all very worth it for my results. I have had no illnesses. I did get a flu shot and swine flu shot, as it was recommended for people that take this med. This started to work the next day after taking! Within the first month I was 80% better...now at 100%. | F | 24 | 1 years 2X M | 8/12/2010 | 4 | Ulcerative Colitus | I've taken 2 rounds of shots so far. The first round included 4 injections, the 2nd round included 2 injections. It does burn very much going in. If you ice the injection spot, that seems to help a great deal. I'm not sure, but I do seem to be very tired/sleepy/fatigued after both treatments. I don't see any of those listed as possible side effects, but I can't seem to pin point any other cause. | The first round of shots kept me home from work and asleep most of the day. The second round has kept me sleepy for several days. Fortunately, I've been snowed in at home and the sleepiness didn't matter. But now it's back to work. Just yesterday I was awake from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm, but had to take an 1 1/2 hour nap during that time and was very ready to go to sleep at night. I take Ambien CR to combat the prednizone, so I am not sure if this is actually the problem. All I know is I need a second nap today. | F | 24 | 3 weeks | 2/1/2010 | 4 | Crohn's and Ankylosing Spondylitis | Occasional irritation at injection site. | M | 24 | 2 years 40 mg 2X M | 11/1/2010 | 4 | Crohn's Disease | Bad headaches for 3 days after I've given myself my shot. Doesn't always seem to help b/c still have flair ups every 2-3 months. But so much better then taking pills every day. | I'm 8 months pregnant with my 2nd child. 1st time being pregnant and on Humira previously on Asacol. I've just been told by my Dr. that i have to stop my Humira at 32 weeks pregnant so i don't weaken the babies immune system. So it will be interesting to see what happens now and if I will start back on Humira after i deliver in October. | F | 24 | 3 years 40 mg 2X M | 8/8/2011 | 4 | Ps | F | 24 | 10 months 30 2X M | 1/3/2013 History | 4 | Moderate to Severe Plaque Psoriasis | Injection site reaction, fatigue, headaches. I just recently developed pain in my right hip that radiates down to my knee. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. | Had helped my psoriasis considerably. I am a little worried about all of the possible side effects thought. | F | 24 | 1 years | 5/15/2009 | 3 | RA | i was taking Enbrel before and thought the drug stopped working so my doctor switched me to Humira, the drug seems to be working to an extent but i am still in so much pain in my legs at night. it seems to me that i have been not acting like myself and about the whole wait gain/loss i just had a baby and have 10 pounds to go until all the weight is off. sinc ei started the drug it does not matter how little i eat i cant seem to loose any weight. i will give the drug a little bit longer but i might ask to be put back on enbrel. i also have has a mouth sore that wont go away since i started | F | 24 | | 5/8/2009 | 2 | crohns disease | severe confusion for the first month, aching muscles, loss of energy, lethargy, didnt stop the cramping, diarrhea, emotional imbalance, intense migraines, constant infections | i absolutely 100% hate humira. hate it hate it hate it!! i was on remicade for almost 4 years and was doing exceptional and then all of a sudden it stopped working. the doctor then switched me straight to humira. i hated injecting myself and the side effects depressed the hell out of me. i just had resection surgery three weeks ago and am doing very well. they took me off the humira and have put me on imuran. i just started it today so ill see how that goes. some people might like humira but i do not recommend it. talk to your doctor first about other options before considering this one. also its damn expensive. the only nice thing i have to say about it is medco was wonderful about getting my doses to me on time every other week. thanks medco. if you do have questions or would like to swap info please email me. | F | 24 | 1 years | 1/28/2009 | 1 | Crohn's Disease | drug induced psoriasis, eczema, folliculitis and extreme hair loss | Humira worked great for my Crohn's symptoms, in fact it technically put me in "remission." However, this took 3 months to occur, and about 4 months into taking the medication I broke out in psoriasis head to toe. Very itchy and flakey scalp, psoriasis lesions all over both of my legs, back, arms and chest. This then turned into a sort of eczema like rash, and what my doctor called follicular eczema on my legs. Most striking is the fact that I have lost 95% of my hair (which was already a little thin to begin with) since starting this drug. There are huge bald patches all over my head which alternate between feeling extremely smooth and flakey. I stopped Humira around 6 weeks ago, and am still battling the rashes and increasing hair loss. I wouldn't recommend this drug based on the side effects alone. | F | 24 | 5 months 40mg 2X M | 3/3/2012 | 5 | RA and Ulcerative Colitis | I've been on Humira for about 9 months now and I LOVE it! I can't imagine living like I did before. After about 5 months of being on Humira my dry/itchy skin and the flaky scalp pretty much stopped. | F | 25 | 9 months 40mg 2X M | 9/21/2011 History | 5 | Psoraisis sometimes Severe | Redness at site and teeth pain | This has cleared me up 80 % and I have never had results like this. After having my kid my skin broke out everywhere! I have a spot on my leg that has never gone away and we have tried everything and now its almost gone! The side effects sound scary but so far so good! I have a whole new body and a whole new confidence but all drugs effect people in different ways! | F | 25 | 3 months | 1/29/2010 | 5 | psoritic arthritis | tiredness | I feel like a different person already, and I have only had 2 injections .I am pain free ,my psorisis is still the same but hopefully will improve, fingers crossed | F | 25 | 1 months | 8/7/2009 | 4 | Crohns | Headahe everyday since taking, dizzy spells, trouble sleeping, weight gain. | I have had 6 injections so far, only 5 weeks into it.. but all is very good. Apart from these unbarable headahes, all my really bad crohns symptoms have gone. Im so far very happy. | F | 25 | 5 weeks | 11/17/2007 | 3 | Chronic Plaque Psoriasis NLD | constant nasal sinus, chest infection casing pleurisy lung lining infection, burst a blood vessel in throat, hair thinning, lumpy swelling of injection site, get tired easier, no energy (lethargic), run down, emotional and have had to miss a couple of dosages due to infections & illness to help body recover | I am also a type 1 diabetic with already a lowered immune system. | F | 25 | 18 months 2X M | 11/10/2011 | 3 | I have had crohns for about 2 years. I have just taken my second does of humira. On the one hand my stomach was almost immediately better than it has ever been. However I thought I was going crazy. I am having serious memory lapses that just got worse after taking my second dose. I am a student in veterinary school and this is completely unacceptable to me. I thought the test were getting harder, I failed two exams this week. I have never failed a test in my life!! | Like others it is a toss up between the side effects and the crohns. For me it was a no brainer (haha literally). Brain = more important than intestines. If anyone has comments about how long the foggyness lasts after you stopped the drug I would love to hear from you. | M | 25 | 3 weeks | 10/20/2009 | 3 | Psorisis | Mainly sore at the injection site. I do develope a sore throat often and when I am sick I am sick times 100 compared to most people. My immune system is down drastically so I cannot fight normal infections. I supplement by taking a lot of vitamins, working out, and taking natural Noni. | Very helpful. It worked within 3 months and I even did a trial run and took myself off of it for 6 months to see if the plaque would come back and it did but only slightly. I am now back on the shot and it has again taken away 90% of what was there. | F | 25 | 2 years | 2/17/2009 | 3 | RA | I HAVE ONLY TAKEN ONE DOSE. I SEEM TO HAVE A BIGGER APPETITE ALREADY. BRUISED ON SITE WHEN GIVEN INJECTION IN STOMACH. PAIN SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE BETTER. | F | 25 | | 4/10/2008 | 2 | crohn's disease | breathlessness, extreme fatigue, mood changes, lack of concentration, memory loss, muscle weakness, nausea, "full" abdomen. | F | 25 | 2 years | 6/5/2009 | 4 | Psoriatic Arthritis | Major fatigue and a bit of depression the first two months. Also got a cold that wouldnt go away the first 3 months and then one after my sixth month. It was really hard to get over the cold but now Im much better. I still feel fatigue (I've been on HUmira 11 months now) | The psoriasis cleared up almost 100% withing the first 3 months (i had severe leg, arm, forehead and hands psoriasis). I didnt take it for one month (missed two shots) when I got the second cold (month six) and the psoriasis began to come back...:( I don't ever want to stop taking it now because of that! As per the arthritis, I feel better temporarily but I start to feel discomfort in my joints around 2 days before I have to inject myself.....makes me feel bad, like a junkie :( | F | 26 | 11 months | 9/22/2008 |
