| 1 | To stop heavy bleeding | Took these to stop a heavy ongoing bled. At first all was fine but now on day 15 I have sever cramping diarrhoea aching from head to toe headaches and mood swings. P had refered me to a different garni as i had previously refused the coil and wanted more informed options and he ordered me some laxatives making out i had some ibs, even though i have a diagnosis, and i said i want to try provera, the oral pill, and he said ok. Initially i was set for up to 3 times a day, i reduced it to 2 and then 1, and i think it worked before side effects started showing. It helped with resetting my cycle, and ovulating normally, but it depresses you long term and you're in a low mood, whilst taking this, headache, back ache and unsociable and thats just the oral pill so dont think id try the shot. | It should only be taking for short lengths of time, small doses for starting periods or for keeping them at bay because it metabolizes in the liver amd secetes which interferes with enzyme and hormone production. Stick to low dose oral progesterones if you can for contraception etc. I would try out different types of progesterone and use a vaginal gel as it really dries up oestrogen levels as its like a hrt drug, it brings flushes and dryness and peiods non stop. 5mg is awful too. Only good for lead up to period for pms, definitely switch to agnus castus temporarily for this. Prior to starting on progestins I was chronically anemic and it's disheartening to feel this kind of fatigue again (despite the anemia being corrected). Can't really be sure if the aura migraines, anxiety, mood swings are side effects or just life issues, but I'd never had aura migraines until I started taking progestins.
