| 3 | rash | missed period had to start provera to restart period after depo medrol shot stopped it! | had a rash took 1 week worth of steroid pills doc prescribed to get rid of when i didnt work i got depo-medrol injection, my period which is always on time was supposed to start for days later, it didnt start that month, called doc office twice, they said it couldnt be the shot that messed up my period, so went to gyno in december after i started period but it was unusually light, brown and lasted a long time, had to get on provera to regulate it again, but it did get rid of the rash so that was the only good thing from it, gyno told me it very well could have been the shot! | 22 | 1 days | 12/28/2009 | 1 | Frozen shoulder | I received one Depo shot for frozen shoulder in Nov 2016. Approx 1 week after that I experienced heart rate up to 140, anxiety, panic attacks, 10 lb weight loss, depression and insomnia. Starting seeing a Naturalpathic who said my adrenal function is low, even though blood work is within normal(but on low side) and symptoms probably due to shot. I am now on mega B, C and stress vitamins and take skullcap for anxiety. I am 4 months out and the lingering side effects are anxiety/depression and occas panic attacks, which my naturalpathic and I are working on. I have never had any of these before and they are quite debilitating. I feel better overall but by no means 100%. I exercise and eat healthy and all of these things help I think. So, I got to work drew up the 1 ml of depo medrol and for good measure I drew up a nice 3mg of toradol. As fast as I could, I shot myself in my right deltoid muscle. About 2 minutes later I could walk normally. My back was still tight but a good 80% of the pain was gone. It's now 645pm and I'm still very comfortable. Little tight but pain is minimal. I experienced this same side effect 4 years ago while taking the pill form for several weeks due to a neck injury, so I was prepared for it. If not for the anxiety attacks, I would be very satisfied with this medication. Depending on any returning pain levels as this injection wears off, I may submit to another one to continue to hold me over until the other meds kick in. Also, found the injection to have much more efficacy over the pill form. Good luck to you who are reading this and I hope this review helps you. DEPO-MEDROL (METHYLPREDNISOLONE ACETATE): Methylprednisolone is used to treat pain and swelling that occurs with arthritis and other joint disorders. This medication may also be used to treat various conditions such as blood disorders, severe allergic reactions, certain cancers, eye conditions, skin/intestinal/kidney/lung diseases, and immune system disorders. It decreases your immune system's response to these conditions and reduces symptoms such as swelling, pain, and allergic-type reactions. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of methylprednisolone, especially if it is to be injected near your spine (epidural). Rare but serious side effects may occur with epidural use.
