| 4 | Ulcerative Colities | I have dealt with most muscle pain and itchiness and hives. I have gotten the hives mostly when I am hot or on hot days. The itchiness is the same as the hives. I get muscle pain almost everyday. I used to be active(as active as you could be with UC) and now I get tired and sore so fast. | I have had UC for 17 years. I will gladly take these side effects for giving me an overall better quality of life. I have many problems from being on steroids so many times. I am glad to not be taking 25 pills a day anymore. I do have Osteoperosis and take Boniva due to use of so much prednisone over the years. Remicade has been a great alternative. | M | 28 | 10 months | 9/22/2009 | 3 | Crohn's | Fatigue during and after the infusion, get hungry during infusion, did bad stuff to my veins, eventually developed allergic reaction after 13 months | I was on Remicade for 13 months. It worked good for me. As long as I had my Remicade every 6 weeks, I could control my flare ups to a certain degree. However, I always had more symptoms at week 5 and 6. I eventually developed antibodies and an allergic reaction to the Rem after my last infusion and my GI is taking me off of it. While at my infusion clinic 30 minutes in my throat felt like it was clising, head started getting red hot and going to explode. I was able to tell my nurse she did nothing! I had to tell her while I could barely talk to turn off the medication. She gave me no help she asked me to take my own Benadryl. Luckily I was able to swollen my OWN pill. Later that day I woke with a fever of 102. Went to the hospital and had a high heart rate. Ended up being admitted to the hospital. Later the next day my heart dropped to 45 then down to the 30's. I was told it was normal but then my QT intervals started to separate which was a bit concerning. Stayed in the hospital for 6 days! I usually have a higher heart rate so this was not normal for me. For another week my heart rate went up and down and thankfully back to normal. Was a horror sotory for me. | F | 28 | 2 weeks 300mg | 9/21/2016 | 1 | Crohns disease | I was diagnosed with Crohns disease 5/24/2021. I was prescribed Remicade in May of 2022. I had my first infusion on 5/12/2022. Second was 5/27/2022. Third was 6/27/2022. Fourth was 8/22/2022. I had reactions ranging from: Chest and throat tightening. This occurred during infusions. I was told this was a minor allergic reaction, and to take Benadryl before infusions. Vomiting, occurred after infusions. Severe joint pain, swelling, and joint immobility. There were multiple ER visits for this: My jaw locked into place and I could not open it; my knees stiffened and swelled to the point I could barely walk; and my shoulder locked into place and I could not move it. When I told my GI doctor I was having these symptoms, this incompetent jackass told me that this was not the Remicade. He said it could be Rheumatoid Arthritis, and to see a rheumatologist. | I started to notice psychiatric symptoms after the 4th infusion. I had an anxiety/manic/depressive episode, and increased aggression. I assumed it was my preexisting condition (generalized depression/anxiety disorder), and asked my PCP to increase my Buspar dosage. On 12/19/22, I had my 5th and final infusion, and experienced a severe adverse psychiatric reaction. Within 3 days of the infusion, I had entered a deep psychosis, believing I was the devil, could control the weather, and the government was after me. I had other auditory and visual delusions, hallucinations, and paranoia. I shaved my freaking head (I am a 28 year old woman), and I quit my job at the onset of the psychosis. This psychosis lasted 6 months, until the latter part of June 2023. I am still recovering. This poison should not be on the market. There clearly have not been enough studies into what this drug does long-term. | F | 28 | 6 months 1X O | 7/7/2023 | 1 | Ulcerative Colitis | Extreme, horrible back and chest pain. I have also had joint pain in my knees and fingers. It has been about a month since my third treatment, and the pain is getting worse. Cannot take deep breaths, sneeze or cough without horrible pain in my back, and it feels like someone is standing on my chest. My doctor took me off the drug immediately, and told me the side effects will eventually go away. We will see. | The medicine has not even made any improvement in my UC whatsoever. They immediately stopped the IV and gave me Phenagren for the nausea. After initial infusion, spots on throat and tongue and (briefly - maybe an hour) spotty blurry vision. Also, right after infusions for remainder of day, really tired, kind of out of it.
